Southend Tiny House Village

Truevine of Holiness Missionary Baptist Church and the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI), in partnership with the Refugee Women’s Alliance of Washington (ReWA), are planning to develop a tiny house village to provide shelter, safety, and community for individuals, couples, and families experiencing homelessness at 9101 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way South. Truevine and LIHI recently leased this property from a private owner. LIHI will develop the village; Truevine and LIHI will manage the village; and ReWA will provide wraparound case management services. The village will serve members of the African American, immigrant, and refugee communities in and around the Rainier Beach community experiencing homelessness. Referrals will be made by ReWA, Truevine, and other South Seattle community organizations. On-site case management will help clients secure permanent housing, employment, healthcare, childcare, and other services.

The village will include: – 24-hour on-site staffing – Code of conduct villagers abide by – Common kitchen, bathrooms & showers – Hot meals delivered daily – On-site wrap-around services including case management, housing search support, employment and health resources – Community Advisory Committee
