If you are looking for ways to get involved with LIHI and the Urban Rest Stop, here are a few of the programs and activities that are looking new volunteers!
We ask that all volunteers commit to at least one 2 hour shift, once per week, for 3 months (unless otherwise arranged)
Downtown Urban Rest Stop
Positions available Monday-Friday from 5:30am – 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am-1pm (specific shift is flexible within these time frames)
Ballard Urban Rest Stop
Positions available Monday-Friday from 6:30am-12pm (specific shift is flexible within these time frames)
University District Urban Rest Stop
Positions available Monday-Friday 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-4pm (specific shift is flexible within these time frames)
Meadowbrook View Apartments (11032 Lake City Way NE Seattle, WA) Monday and Wednesdays 3:30-5:00pm
Columbia Court Apartments (728 26th Ave, Seattle, WA) Mondays 5:00-6:00pm
Martin Court Apartments (6188 4th Ave, Seattle, WA) Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm
Denny Park Apartments (230 8th Ave N, Seattle, WA) Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm
Through the Office Hours program, the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) residents work with volunteers to learn basic computer and job-related skills. Volunteers offer on-site individualized help including resume building, setting up email accounts, filling out applications, and practicing interview skills.
